Luis Miguel Ramis: “The only thing that happens in my head is winning”

Luis Miguel Ramis arrives “calm” and “responsible” for the “most important” moment of his career as a coach, the second leg of the final for promotion to the First Division that takes place tomorrow (8:00 p.m., Movistar LaLiga) at the Heliodoro Rodriguez Lopezz. He also does it at the head of a special team in his career, a Tenerife in which he was already a protagonist as a footballer in the 90s.

After 42 league games and three playoff games, the Blue and Whites’ coach is in favor of applying the same formula as up to now. That’s how it went well. He doesn’t even relax knowing that the tie could be enough. “I don’t know how to manage those situations from minute one,” he acknowledged yesterday, referring to the advantage that the representative has for having been better classified than Girona in the League. “The only thing going through my head is to play a good game and try to win,” he added, ruling out the option of Tenerife speculating on the result.

Imagining the development of the duel, he warned that “there will be a bit of everything” in the 90 minutes; or in the 120, if it is resolved in the extension. “Many types of situations can arise, because the match can take place in different contexts, but we are prepared to compete in any circumstance,” Ramis clarified before qualifying the players he directs as “intelligent”.

no surprises

His plan does not seem to include any surprises, but it does have some nuance regarding the game that was played last Saturday in Montilivi (0-0). Ramis pointed out that Tenerife should “manage better” the game with the ball, “make better decisions and do more damage” than in the first leg. “And we will be able to do it,” he announced. «We will have to play a very complete game, because Girona has evolved for the better during the season and also has very clear ideas; and that implies being very balanced, adapting to what the game requires and trying to win, as always », he indicated.

The coach sees his men prepared “to compete in any circumstance”

Ramis recalled that “no two parties are the same, especially when they are of this importance.” In this sense, he proposed a theoretical script marked by equality and tension. «It will be competitive, even, with tension, with all the characteristics of a game of this relevance for some and for others; and we treat it with the importance it has when you wear this shirt; the players have understood that message », he guaranteed.

Michel expects goals

Convinced of the victory and that they will give “a spectacular version” at the Heliodoro. This is how the Girona expedition arrives today in Tenerife, which hopes to close the tie in its favor in tomorrow’s second leg, as it happened in the previous match against Eibar. Yesterday, Míchel, his coach, predicted that the Tenerife team, although the draw is worth it, “will come out to propose” because he plays in his fiefdom, hence he visualizes a match in different coordinates from the first leg “and with goals”.
