Within the framework of the call that the Municipality of La Laguna activated about a month ago for the search and acquisition of housing for social purposes, through muvisathe entity has received, once the term has closed, a total of 59 offers for the purchase of residences for a total amount of 5,955,320 euros.
This was announced by the CEO of Muvisa, Ignacio Viciana, who pointed out that they have received “proposals from both citizens at a private level and some real estate intermediaries”, and of a varied typology. Thus, there are houses with from one to five rooms, some are isolated buildings, others are flats located in buildings or even entire buildings themselves. In addition, “there are those that have been recently renovated, others that are in good condition despite having been finished for a long time, some that need comprehensive reform and there are also offers for structural buildings that were never completed,” he pointed out.
As for the areas, they have received proposals from various parts of the municipality such as La Cuesta, Geneto, Taco, Las Mercedes, Valle de Guerra or even the historic center.
Now, after receiving these offers, Muvisa and the Social Welfare area “will have to analyze the proposals received to order the priorities based on the existing social demand. And then the second phase of this project will be put out to tender, which will basically consist of requesting more detailed information on each home and preparing a scale according to the needs that are established”, explained Ignacio Viciana in this regard.
In addition, Muvisa’s technicians will visit the homes that are selected and independent appraisals will be made to compare them with the sale prices offered.
It should be remembered that the City Council announced that the initial item for this call was two million euros, earmarking another additional million for the purchase of 16 modular homes in Geneto.
The CEO of the entity made a very positive assessment of the number and variety of offers received and hopes to “activate the final tender soon so that the acquisition of these homes is possible as soon as possible”. In this sense, he announced that they will meet soon with the Social Welfare area “to study the information together and make the final decisions on amounts and priorities when establishing a scale that allows responding to the existing demand.”
“This is just one more step in the housing acquisition and promotion policy that the municipal government of La Laguna has been betting on, which will begin to crystallize in the coming months after work that has not been easy,” Viciana emphasized.
During the presentation of this call, last month, the mayor, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, stressed that this process “will allow us to have a municipal public housing stock for social purposes in La Laguna.” “It is the first stone of an action that will allow us to have a temporary resource to deal with housing emergencies,” he stressed.
