SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 14. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the delegated area of Foreign Action, has approved the execution of an action plan aimed at promoting commercial relations between the island and the countries of West Africa, through business meetings that allow the generation of common business .

The CEO of the area, Liskel Álvarez, points out that the execution of this action has been awarded to the international consulting firm How2Go, which, for an initial period of nine months, will provide an advisory service in the search for business opportunities for companies importers and exporters of the island of Tenerife.

Previously, the Foreign Action area carried out a study, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the Public Organism of State Ports, in which more than 130 companies from Tenerife with an interest in establishing commercial relations with the neighboring continent, with which they have already begun to work.

In addition, the program is open to the participation of new companies seeking to open up to new markets, for which a contact email has been enabled ([email protected]).

The actions that are being carried out include the organization and follow-up of virtual B2B (business to business) meetings between Tenerife companies and entities and contacts on the West African coast that are interested in their goods and services. Council note.

“These are virtual meetings with which it is intended to reinforce contacts with potential partners, clients or local entities in neighboring countries without the need for SMEs to travel to the continent to connect with potential partners, clients or local entities”, explains Liskel Álvarez.

Likewise, it points out that the geographical proximity and the good maritime connections between the ports of Tenerife and West Africa “facilitate the development of businesses that benefit both territories” and stresses “the potential of African countries so that Tenerife companies can expand their resources and services.

In this context, it details that, “in addition to facilitating international contacts, this action plan will make available to SMEs information that is useful in their steps to internationalize and implement their businesses in the African market.”

For Liskel Álvarez, “what we are looking for are success stories, to ensure that there is a greater number of new companies that obtain clients or commercial partners in the area of West Africa, which leads to an increase in their productivity and growth in the market”.

The CEO also points out that this program allows reinforcing the actions that the Foreign Action delegated area has been promoting to favor internationalization and the development of the business fabric in other markets.
