At last! Tonight, at 9:00 p.m., reunion with the 17 murgas ‘survivors’ of the two-year health crisis that left behind six formations: La Traviata –disappears–, Marchilongas –feminine dean–, Klandestinas, Triquikonas, Tiralenguas – from the North– and Not Many. On the other side, La Sonora, in the independence of Carlos Estévanez (Trabas) and Óscar Gómez (Triqui), the only premiere.
The reunion brings changes in Mamelucos –the lyricist Airam Bazzocchi replaces Xerach Casanova, who continues with the editing–. In El Toscal, new director, Carlos Casanova, and musical manager, Rubén García, who substituted for David Padilla who never premiered, with the support of Yerai Lorenzo.
The generational change in Diablos becomes effective, with a plenipotentiary Tomy Carvajal, with Acaymo Correa and Víctor Asensio and the director of the last 25 years, Maxi, among the tenors. Desbocados also changes musical director; Urbano García replaces Rubén García. Rolled up is entrusted to Iván Morales Bobi, who was a member of Triqui, and Unleashed is reinforced by Romén Soriano.
It is a muted return: each murga will have 20 minutes and they play the pass to a theme. Of the finalists in 2020 –Zeta, Diablos, Bambones, Mamelucos, La Traviata, Burlonas, Trabachones and Desbocados–, a free place, La Traviata. And they come chopping lights After After After, euphoric to open tonight; and Chinchosos, who want to break a Guinness Record, or murgas played in honor, such as Triqui or Ni Pico. Gambling on a theme means opening up all the possibilities.
