SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 13. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife has completed the urbanization works for the access to the Bellavista cemetery, in the municipality of Tegueste.
This action, which is included in the Municipal Cooperation Plan 2014-2017, has involved an investment of 871,174 euros, of which 90 percent corresponded to the island corporation and the other 10 percent to the City Council.
The island councilor for Municipal Cooperation and Housing, Zebenzuí Chinea, who officially handed over the works this Monday, stated in a note that “these works, in addition to notably improving the access road to the cemetery, have definitively solved the channeling of rainwater in the road”.
Chinea highlights the importance “of concluding actions as demanded, necessary and expected as this one”, and indicates that “the works consisted of resurfacing and the introduction of service networks, rainwater, sanitation and irrigation, and the pre-installation of telecommunications and public lighting in the access road to the cemetery”, which has a length of about 400 metres.
Ana Rosa Mena assures, for her part, that the achievement of these works is a “milestone” for the municipality.
From the beginning, he highlights, “we are committed to expanding the initial project, grounding it to the real needs of the neighbors in terms of accessibility, mobility, public lighting and other issues that we consider fundamental”.
In this sense, he adds that the improvement of access to the cemetery was a historical demand to which, at last, a solution has been given.
“From the council we appreciate the involvement of the counselor, Zebenzuí Chinea, his team and all the people who have participated in the project, which has facilitated the completion of the works in a timely manner”, he comments.
