SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 11. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Roads and Mobility Area of the Cabildo de Tenerife continues with the rehabilitation work on the Autopista del Sur (TF-1), which this time will be carried out around the towns of Chimiche and Tajao, in the municipalities of Granadilla de Abona and Arico.

Specifically, the works will take place from the night of tomorrow, Sunday, June 12, until the morning of Friday, June 17, and will focus on laying out the wearing course.

The Vice President and Island Councilor for Roads, Enrique Arriaga, has announced that in the coming days the wearing course of the rehabilitated section may be considered finished. Therefore, Arriaga thanked the work of all the staff, which amounts to about 90 people, for the effort made in the improvement work and the speed with which they have faced them.

The work to improve the road, carried out by Sacyr, will be located around the Chimiche/El Río/Las Maretas (49) and Tajao Environmental Complex (46) junctions. During the nights of Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday the rehabilitation will be carried out in the direction of Santa Cruz, while on Wednesday it will take place in the direction of Adeje.

As usual, the rehabilitation work will be carried out at night, between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., to minimize inconvenience to drivers and promote the safety of workers.

To guarantee circulation on the road, detours will be established around the work areas. During Monday night, those vehicles traveling in the direction of Santa Cruz and seeking to exit the highway through junction 49 will have to continue to the Tajao/Environmental Complex junction (46), where they will be able to make a U-turn and return direction Adeje to the destination area.

Likewise, those who want to travel from Las Maretas to the capital must join the road heading south to make a U-turn at the access link to the Granadilla Industrial Estate (51).

On Monday, the works will reach the Tajao/Environmental Complex junction (46), so those vehicles traveling towards Santa Cruz must change direction at the Villa de Arico/Abades junction (42), to return to the Chimiche or Tajao area.

The work that will be carried out on Tuesday night will mean that, in order to travel towards Santa Cruz from Tajao or from the Environmental Complex, it will be necessary to drive south, to change the direction of travel at junction 51.

On Wednesday, this junction in the Adeje direction will be rehabilitated, so those who, from the south, want to access one of the affected towns will be able to continue to junction 49 to make a U-turn and return to the destination area. On the other hand, to go to the Tenerife South Airport from these points you will have to go to junction 42, to rejoin the road in the desired direction.

Lastly, during the night hours of Thursday, the 16th, drivers traveling in the direction of Santa Cruz and wishing to access Tajao or the Environmental Complex via link 46 must continue towards the capital and make a U-turn at the exit 42 to return to these areas. On the other hand, to go north from these points, they will have to circulate towards interchange 49, where they will be able to change direction.

These works are part of the TF-1 resurfacing plan that has been carried out since last April and which includes an execution period of approximately fourteen months. In total, the works, carried out by Sacyr, will comprise nearly 40 kilometers of the road between Adeje and Arico.
