The Cabildo exposes the new call for employment projects, endowed with two million euros, to non-profit social entities. The island counselor of the area, Carmen Luz Baso, highlights the added value provided by the knowledge and experience of unions, associations and foundations in relation to the needs of unemployed people and companies. The degree of employment is one of the criteria that will be taken into account to select. The maximum grant amounts to 300,000 euros.

Baso highlights “the added value that these entities, due to their in-depth knowledge of the labor market and the territorial reality of the Island, can contribute to the strategy and actions to combat unemployment.” He emphasizes the importance of “strengthening and joining public and private efforts to achieve a more effective solution to the needs of unemployed people, especially those who are in a situation of social exclusion or at risk of suffering from it.” He also «to the demands of qualified personnel from the business sector».

Baso points out that the amount per project ranges between 50,000 and 300,000 euros, depending on its characteristics and the level of employment. He recalls that in the previous call, financed with the Canary Islands Development Funds (FDCAN), ten projects were promoted, with a total aid of 1.7 million euros.

The projects must be related to the promotion of the blue and green economy; industry and construction activities linked to sustainability and energy efficiency; as well as the services sector and the orange economy. The term to apply for this subsidy is open until July 8 and the bases in the BOP of June 1.
