The Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Housing of the Government of the Canary Islands has published the tender to hire project drafting and technical assistance for the construction of thirteen new protected homes in Güímar, in Tenerife.
For the project contract for these new homes, included in the construction program of the Canary Islands Housing Plan 2020-2025, the Ministry allocates 113,039 euros.
This new development in Güímar is the first in the Canary Islands whose project is put out to tender for the new land ceded by the municipalities to the Canarian Housing Institute (ICAVI) after the approval of the Housing Plan in December 2020. The other promotions of the Plan whose works or tenders are already underway are executed on land that had been transferred to the Government before the year 2020.
Minister Sebastián Franquis and the first deputy mayor, Airam Puerta, held a meeting yesterday at the headquarters of the Parliament of the Canary Islands to publicize this action promoted by the Ministry and which has been promoted by the Güímar City Council.
The counselor valued and thanked the effort made by the Güímar City Council to move forward with the transfer of this land to the ICAVI for the execution of the Housing Plan programs in their locality.
For his part, Puerta highlighted to the counselor the work carried out by his councilors and technicians since 2019, as soon as he entered the Mayor’s Office, to complete the administrative file for almost two years and approve the transfer of this land to the Government in the municipal plenary session.
This promotion of thirteen homes will be located on a plot of land ceded by the City Council in the Los Pasitos area, in the La Chacona neighborhood, with an area of 2,207 square meters. The construction project that goes out to tender foresees that a two-story building will be built on that land to house the thirteen homes.
