The Cabildo of Tenerife, through Tenerife Tourismhas launched a campaign to promote the Santa Cruz Carnival de Tenerife in Madrid, Bilbao and Seville, to support this celebration through different marketing actions that will focus on the busiest public transport stations, with interactive screens and digital advertising media advertising the Carnival.

The island’s Director of Tourism, Laura Castro, indicates that “this year Santa Cruz celebrates its Carnival exceptionally in June, coinciding with the start of the summer campaign, which will help boost the arrival of tourists to our island, with the incentive to be able to enjoy a carnival on these dates, something unprecedented that will surely bring significant added value to your stay”. Laura Castro adds that “the busiest areas of Madrid will become an unbeatable showcase that will show the attractions of the island to thousands of people every day.”

The promotion covers the main public transport hubs in Madrid, such as Moncloa, Príncipe Pio, Plaza Elíptica, Avenida de América and Plaza de Castilla, all of the busiest, from where you can see the screens installed in these stations to promote the festivities. In addition, when crossing the Plaza de Callao, images of the Tenerife Carnival will be projected through different screens with the aim of encouraging the population to travel to the island during these dates.

Laura Castro points out that the campaign has also reached the cities of Bilbao and Seville, whose main streets will also be decorated with multiple images, videos and information through the canopies and screens located in public transport stations, in this case, of buses “We want the visibility of our island to be the maximum and that is why we have targeted the urban environments of three large cities, through which not only the people who reside in them pass, but also many tourists who come from all over the world.”

For his part, the CEO of Tenerife Tourism, David Pérez, clarifies that “the promotion is included in the program of promotional actions abroad that we have been carrying out, in which the Carnival is continuously present”.

With this objective, promotional actions have been carried out in meetings as notable as the annual awards ceremony of the British Guild of Travel Writers (BGTW) association in London, the most important event in the United Kingdom in which the work of journalists is recognized and informants specialized in the travel sector. The gala was held last November at the Savoy Hotel in London, and culminated with a performance by the comparsa Los Joroperos.

“This event also had its return to the island with the arrival last April of some 80 journalists and informants members of the association who spent a week in Tenerife with the aim of learning about our tourist attractions to spread them through the media of the island. British country, who learned during their stay all the programming planned for the carnival”, highlights the CEO.

Tenerife Tourism also presented the carnival offer within the framework of the 2022 Madrid Open Tennis tournament, where, David Pérez explains, “we presented a promotional campaign aimed at two specific audiences, a young tourist looking for new emotions and a that seeks luxury experiences, and we announced to the specialized press the agenda of events organized for the Carnival”. In addition, “through our representative offices in Miami, London, Madrid, the Netherlands, Frankfurt and Paris, both the general media and the tourism sector at origin are fully informed of the celebration of the carnival festivities, as well as the exceptionality that this year is lived in summer, among other actions carried out in recent months.”

Also during the FVW congress of the German tourism industry, he highlights that “we held different work meetings with tour operators, airlines and travel agents from Germany in order to influence the growth of the German market on the island, and we presented the carnival as one of our great attractions. “In all these events we have addressed a diverse public that has been able to enjoy the rhythm and color of the carnival. Our enhancement of the party par excellence of Tenerife has been enriched with promotional campaigns in the media with national and international coverage, to encourage participation in its celebration.
