SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 5. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Canary Islands Command has announced this Saturday in Santa Cruz de Tenerife the daily work carried out by members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Military Emergency Unit and Civil Guard.
In this way, on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Armed Forces (DIFAS) 2022, the people of Tenerife were able to enjoy a series of activities framed in this day.
Thus, the Maritime Avenue of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has been the scene that has hosted these events, which began at 10:30 a.m. with a solemn raising of the Flag, presided over by the Military Commander of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Head of the 5th Sub-inspection General of the Army, as reported by the Canary Islands Command itself in a statement.
This was followed by the inauguration by Lieutenant General Escámez, Head of the Canary Islands Command of the ET and Institutional Representative of the Armed Forces in the Canary Islands, of the exhibition of Armed Forces material.
The material on display was provided by the Units of the three Armies, UME and the Civil Guard with a garrison on the island of Tenerife, which aroused the curiosity of children and adults who walked along its route.
Visitors to this dynamic exhibition have had the opportunity to learn about the main missions, materials and way of life of those who are part of our Armed Forces, as one more State Institution, useful, close, modern and decisive at the service of our society. .
Meanwhile, in the afternoon, at 7:00 p.m. and under the presidency of the General Chief of the Canary Islands Command of the Army, the central act of this celebration took place in Tenerife, accompanied by different civil and military authorities.
The act began with the rendering of honors to the Authority presiding over the act, where an ordinance salvo was made by a Field Artillery Battery of the 93 Field Artillery Regiment (RACA 93).
The participating Honors Unit was made up of a Squad of Spenders and a Battery from RACA 93, Music from the Canary Islands Command, War Band No. 2 from BRICAN XVI and an Inter-Army Squad for the execution of the lowering.
After the Tribute to those who gave their lives for Spain, Lieutenant General Escámez proceeded to present an institutional gift in recognition of the oldest commanding officer in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Lieutenant Colonel José Manuel Padilla.
