SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 3 (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Investigating Court Number 4 of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has agreed to file the open case against the administrative procedure launched by the Institute of Social and Socio-Sanitary Care (IASS) to transfer patients from the Febles Campos hospital to new facilities more appropriate and modern.

In the judicial order it is proven that there is no criminal evidence that supports the complaint filed by the company’s works committee and the Canary Islands Workers’ Assembly Union, the corporation details in a note.

The insular president, Pedro Martín, assures that the court order “demonstrates that this complaint, presented and led by José Luis Gutiérrez, is part of a malicious strategy, initiated against the current insular government from the beginning of the mandate, to stop at all costs management and goes directly against the interests of the Febles Campos patients, who are the main victims of the start of this judicial process”.

Along these lines, he regrets that the representative of the IASS works council “has stopped the procedure with complaints so that the users of the Febles Campos have a decent place in which they can be treated with the requirements they need.”

Thus, it indicates that “it is surprising that José Luis Gutiérrez did not say anything in the previous stage, in which there were very questionable matters.”

Now, he continues, “we are in another time, their strategy is to scare the workers with threats and the politicians with complaints, it doesn’t work with us, they denounced us, with invented arguments, because we wanted a new building where we could serve the workers with dignity. the most vulnerable elderly and in a more delicate health situation and it seems despicable to me to paralyze the transfer of the elderly to a new center just to try to force the Cabildo to grant them personal privileges within the company”.

For her part, the third vice president and island councilor for Social Action, Marián Franquet, stresses that the main victims are the elderly.

“The only thing that this lawsuit has achieved is to reduce the quality of life of these people and delay for a year the work that we had promoted to provide a decent solution to the users of Febles Campos,” he says.

RIGOROUS WORK

Franquet stresses that they are not going to “stop working” to solve this problem and give the elders of Febles Campos the best conditions, and they are going to do it “with the same rigor” that they have maintained from the beginning of this process to despite the lawsuit.

Franquet values, in this line, “the rigorous work that the IASS professionals are carrying out, presenting all the necessary technical reports to find the best possible solution”.

The order also endorses the decision of the current island government to reject the alternative proposed by the IASS team from the previous mandate to acquire a building owned by businessman Antonio Plasencia located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife for 29 million euros.

As contemplated in the text, “it does not seem illogical to think that the group at that time – the current government group – would harbor doubts in the acquisition of such a controversial property given its origin and the way in which it was finally incorporated. to the patrimony of the City Council of Santa Cruz, after a long negotiation process in which it is contributed as payment for part of the civil responsibility of the former owner and also convicted and imprisoned for this cause”, referring to the case of the Teresitas.

Something very relevant is that in the order it is also understood that the plaintiff, José Luis Gutiérrez, defends the interests of the previous island government, they point out from the Cabildo.

Thus, the brief states that “it seems to be conveyed that the plaintiff only calls into question the management, procedures, projects, works and solutions to this serious social problem promoted by the government team contrary to the one represented in this case by the private prosecution”.
