SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 3 (EUROPE PRESS) –

‘Tenerife Licita’, a program promoted jointly between the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the delegated area of ​​Foreign Action of the Cabildo de Tenerife, becomes an official UN collaborator after its approval as a United Nations Trade Promotion Organization United.

This privileged position allows ‘Tenerife Licita’ to offer a broader service, being able to carry out an early detection of opportunities and establish synergies between the companies awarded contracts and the members of the Council, thus increasing their business possibilities, points out the Chamber in a note.

For the president, Santiago Sesé, “we are proud to be one of the few entities at the national level that have assumed this role, which will undoubtedly allow us to facilitate and further promote the internationalization of companies in our demarcation in a market that In addition, it offers payment guarantees”.

The CEO of the Foreign Action area of ​​the Cabildo de Tenerife, Liskel Álvarez, highlights “the importance of this collaboration in a strategic market such as that of the UN, with the multiple possibilities that open up for Tenerife companies that wish to expand their businesses and services, and become providers of this organization”.

Thus, he points out that “last year this strategic consultancy program ‘Tenerife Licita’ was launched, to advise companies on the steps to follow to compete in the competitions of international organizations, and that it becomes part of the network of collaborators of the United Nations will promote, even more, the opening to the outside”.

This appointment offers multiple benefits both to the Chamber and to the member companies of ‘Tenerife Licita’, since by being a collaborator of the UN you have access to the statistics of acquisitions and suppliers of the largest international organization in the world, thus being able to establish synergies and collaborations between the winners of previous contracts and the companies of Tenerife, thus allowing them to make the leap to internationalization in a safe way by working with a client with 0% defaults.

Likewise, being a collaborating entity of the United Nations also empowers the Chamber to propose, as part of this network, innovative purchasing solutions that can provide a more efficient response to the needs of the UN, being possible to promote business opportunities among member companies. of ‘Tenerife Licita’ and getting them to be awarded these contracts.

UNITED NATIONS, A STRATEGIC MARKET FOR TENERIFE

In its clear commitment to the internationalization of companies on the island through public tenders in the multilateral market, ‘Tenerife Licita’ launched an innovative strategic consulting program in 2021 to teach participating companies how to win United Nations tenders.

The culmination of this training program was the transfer of the participating companies to the main headquarters of the UN in New York to form part of the EUPF (European Procurement Forum), an event organized by the commercial representatives of the European Union whose objective is to promote relationships between supplier companies and the different agencies that make up the international organization, thus facilitating the awarding of contracts.

Within the framework of this event, the participating companies had the opportunity to hold individual interviews with UN purchasing officials, being able to learn first-hand about their needs and giving them detailed information on their products or services to respond to the needs of this organism.
