The last plenary Municipality of Puerto de la Cruz It ended this Tuesday, May 31, 2022 with the empty chairs of the eight councilors of the Popular Party. The expulsion of the PP spokesman, Peter Gonzalezby the socialist mayor, Mark Gonzalezended with the departure of all the People’s Municipal Group, who called the president’s behavior “cacicada”. The Socialists consider what happened “a lack of institutional respect” and “a crude attempt to return to past episodes that the people of Porto have overcome.”

Pedro González affirms that “Mark Gonzalez He has shown who he really is because by drawing his attention to remind him that he cannot use the presidency to disrespect the deputy spokesman and president of the Porto PP, Mountain Angelhas expelled me from the plenary session, without even giving me time to explain to him that he couldn’t do that”.

The PSOE subsequently issued a statement to express its “front rejection to a new provocation of the PP after leaving the last plenary session”. Socialists considerunacceptable this way of doing politics. First for skipping the bullfighter, up to three times, the corresponding notices by the Mayor of the city for trying to speak repeatedly without having been granted, as stated in the regulations that apply to order the plenary sessions in a clear act of indiscipline included in art.95.1 of the municipal ROF. And later for the voluntary abandonment of the plenary session by the entire popular bench supporting and applauding an act of indisciplinewhich clearly expresses its null institutional respect for the minimum standards of behavior that must be given where the will of the people of Porto resides, as stated in the laws.

The Socialists accuse the PP of “a new provocation”

Socialists claim that this type of behavior “hide a previously planned political strategy, including a video recorded and uploaded to social networks just five minutes after he left the plenary, which seeks to revive episodes that seemed to have been overcome in recent years and reflects both the lack of ideas and the state of desperation of the popular group in the opposition, which seems to start its electoral campaign in a more than regrettable way. It is for the PSOE of a crude attempt to return to a dangerous and very harmful path for the city to the past that takes up this PP to which no one from Porto wants to return”.

The PSOE warns that “This type of indiscipline does a disservice to democracysince also with this voluntary abandonment of the plenary session, the proposals that the popular ones brought to the plenary session were no longer debated, thus failing in their work of representation towards their voters.

The popular do not share this vision of the PSOE and maintain that “within the debate, and as a result of a recognition of credit of more than 780,000 euros, the deputy spokesman and president of the PP of Puerto de la Cruz, Mountain Angel, ugly that, after more than three years of government they still had not completed the hiring file and that, in addition, they spent 140,000 euros more than they should in just two months. The evidence of this matter made the socialist nervous. Mark Gonzalez who, using the prerogative that he has from the presidency of the Plenary, and to divert attention, tried to make fun of the popular councilor. Given this situation, the spokesman Peter Gonzalez, in defense of his partner, raised a point of order, reproached that behavior, trying to remind him that he must maintain an institutional position. However, the socialist president expelled the spokesman, with an absolutely bossy behavior typical of someone who is not capable of withstanding political criticism”.

The PP considers that the mayor had “absolutely bossy behavior, typical of someone who is not capable of withstanding political criticism”

“As a consequence of the unjustified and disproportionate action of Mark Gonzalezand as a rejection of the absolutely despotic behavior of the socialist alderman, all the councilors of the Municipal Group of the People’s Party They silently left the plenary hall, thus showing their rejection of the deplorable performance of those who have not known how to maintain their composure in the presidency of the Local Corporation”, detail the popular ones.

For Pedro González, “Mark Gonzalez has not learned the good manners, knowing how to be, and the institutional role that his predecessor performed lopez afonso as mayor of the city in the last term. He has behaved like a capricious child who, when he is losing, as he cannot take the game, expels his opponent from him. He has not been disrespected, there have been no bad words on our part, and before trying to ask him to keep his composure, he has kicked me out of the House in an absolutely dictatorial manner. It seemed that he was waiting for the opportunity for it because, in less than 15 seconds, he proceeded to expel me. It is very sad that the city of Cross port be in these hands.”
