The spokesman for Podemos in Los Realejos, Teo Morales, has expressed that “it was time for Manuel Domínguez to resign from the mayor’s office, after almost three terms that could well be summed up with his constant absences from the city council due to the duplicity of his positions and a mess of unfulfilled promises that can no longer hide behind the charisma of a leader dedicated to posturing and electoral makeup.
In the opinion of the purple, “Domínguez leaves Los Realejos without having inaugurated a single municipal infrastructure carried out during his eleven years in office, after enormous promises of large projects for the municipality, such as auditoriums, racetracks, cultural venues, sports centers, golf courses and even funiculars, more typical of the development model of the 70s, which remained mere neighborhood plans consisting of asphalting the streets to the point of exhaustion,” says Morales.
Morales understands that after eleven years at the head of the royal mayor’s office “he had no other worthy way out than to resign, a decision that we know he had already made a long time ago, with the strategy of making the handpicked successor, Adolfo González, visible by forced marches. , who has had to exercise too much as an accidental mayor and is as much or more responsible than Domínguez for his failures in municipal management.
Morales is convinced that “there will be no change of direction with the official arrival of Adolfo González as mayor, since the whole town knows that he is the one who has truly served as mayor in the daily municipal management, managing all the municipal areas. in these three mandates, with little success”. For this reason, they are convinced that the arrival of González “will not mean any significant change in the terrible management of the Popular Party in the municipality.”
Finally, from Podemos they announce that they plan to hold a citizen assembly throughout the month of June to reorganize internally with the militancy and “promote a municipalist, broad and leftist candidacy for 2023 that adds the desire for change that we perceive now more than never in royal citizenship”.
