SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 30 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, highlighted this Monday the positive tourist occupancy data that has been registered this May bridge, the first without restrictions after two years of pandemic.
The president, who has attended the Institutional Fight of the Canary Islands Day in Lanzarote, wished that the tourist recovery continue because the Canary Islands have been one of the territories “most affected” by the pandemic crisis, and then by the economic and social crisis, which forced tourism to stop.
Ángel Víctor Torres was happy that tourism in the Canary Islands is recovering after two lost years and that islands such as Lanzarote or Fuerteventura are registering even better data than they had before the pandemic.
Torres hopes that this situation will continue to be able to have a “good start” in the summer and also in the last months of the year, which coincide with the high tourist season in the Canary Islands.
