“Being ourselves we will have more options”

Xavi García Pimienta, as soon as UD Las Palmas was promoted to fourth place in the standings after beating Sporting, and matched up with CD Tenerife in the semifinal of the promotion play-off, recommended a reset. “We started from scratch. Reset. We focus exclusively on Wednesday’s game », he announced in El Molinón.

The Catalan coach of the yellow team has it clear for the two life and death clashes against the eternal rival. «Against Tenerife we have to strengthen our virtues. Being ourselves we will have more options to achieve victory. The final position has nothing to do with it. We are both where we wanted”, stated the coach of the Gran Canaria team, to later add that “we are going to be a difficult rival in the playoffs”.

Xavi García Pimienta, once again, emphasized the faith of his team in the impressive final stretch they have signed: «This squad never stopped believing, not even in the worst moments of the season». In addition, he remembered his words from last Friday, prior to the match against Sporting at El Molinón, about a possible matchup with Tenerife. «I said it at the press conference, I signed for Tenerife. It is a derby, it is clear that it is a special match but the difficulty will be the same as against another rival. We are going to have to do things very well », he recounted.

The Catalan coach of UD, as before the decisive match against Oviedo a week ago, where the yellow team had to win to almost sentence their pass to the playoffs, appeals to the fans so that this return to bursting the coliseum of Siete Palmas on Saturday in the second leg of the semifinal. «We have the great luck of Gran Canaria, last week against Oviedo there was an incredible atmosphere. I ask the fans to fill the field again although I know they are going to do it, I have not the slightest doubt », he pointed out.

Rotations

The coach of the Gran Canaria squad explained the rotations he made yesterday at El Molinón in an almost white-collar duel against Sporting: «We are lucky to enter the playoffs clean at card level, I have a wonderful squad, they all deserve play. Due to the load that certain players had, we have decided to give fresh air with some footballers. I think we needed it.”

Viera: “For our people”

The captain of the yellow troop conjures up for the most decisive derbies in history, the ones that UD and Tenerife will play so that one of them continues dreaming of promotion: “The derby only adds magic to the matter. On Wednesday we are going to win. We don’t know if it’s good or bad so soon. There are no excuses. We are going to win in Tenerife for our people. Because if we achieve it there, on Saturday we will have the tie very much in front of us». The one from La Feria praised the attitude of the team in this great final that he is signing. «In these three months the team became aware of being a team: all united. This playoff is a prize for everyone, because we believed. We started against Valladolid and here we are. We are going to try it again, ”announced the UD attacker. | pc
