The Ministry of Ecological Transition of the Government of the Canary Islands has released for public information for a period of thirty days the provisional approval of the Master Plan for the Use and Management of the Teide National Park, in Tenerife.
The plan will contribute to the conservation of biodiversity and the natural landscape of the National Park, in addition to promoting research and cooperation between administrations, the Ministry has indicated in a statement.
Observations and suggestions may be made in person or electronically and a hearing procedure will be granted to environmental associations, scientific entities, associations related to uses and exploitation and those related to public use.
People who wish can access the document at the facilities of the Vice-Ministry for the Fight against Climate Change and Ecological Transition of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, at the Teide National Park Offices or through the Ministry website.
A query will also be made to the affected public administrations.
The Plan is structured in six general lines: conservation, public use, infrastructure, research, coordination with other administrations and relations with the environment and monitoring, evaluation and control, details the Ministry.
Among the main objectives is the conservation of flora, fauna and vegetation, the implementation of a sustainable mobility system and control of visits.
It is also intended to maintain, rehabilitate and adapt the infrastructures of the National Park, as well as reduce those that are incompatible with its purposes, in addition to deepening environmental research programs and developing tools that facilitate communication between administrations.
