The City Council of Tegueste celebrates the festivities of the Virgen de los Remedios 2021 with more than a dozen activities for all audiences, “in which the health protocols against covid-19 are complied with.” This is the second consecutive year that, due to the epidemiological situation, the Department of Festivities must adapt the program of events so that they can be carried out safely and adapted to the current level 4 alert in Tenerife.

The mayor of Tegueste, Ana Mena, highlights in a press release that the purpose of the corporation is “to be able to enjoy numerous cultural activities, taking care of the capacity and security measures, but without losing the essence of the festivities in honor of the Virgen de Los Remedios, co-patron and honorary mayor of the municipality.

Thus, between September 1 and 12, different events will take place, ranging from musical and family shows, religious services and the most traditional and representative representations of the festivities. The Councilor for Festivities, Eladia López, highlights the effort made by the Consistory to enjoy almost twenty activities. “The open-air summer cinema in the Plaza de San Marcos is one of the proposals most demanded by residents,” says the mayor.

There will also be space for musical shows, such as the Habaneras Festival, which will take place tomorrow at the Príncipe Felipe Theater and the performance of the group La Viña y Jeita, on the 10th. Tegueste floats, which can be visited on Calle Prebendado Pacheco from 7 to 12 ”, indicates the City Council.

Three of the main acts of the festivities will take place on Wednesday, September 8, after the celebration of the Eucharist in honor of the Virgen de los Remedios, at 6:00 p.m. After the religious service, the Virgin’s Flag will be transferred and raised, the arrival of the Militia and the Dance of the Flowers.
