Public Services continues with the communication to the city’s public car parks which, after ex officio review, have to adjust their rates as they do not correspond to the prices included in the award specifications. The last one that has been notified that it must adjust its rate is the Ramón y Cajal car park, which, according to the area managed by Carlos Tarife, maintains prices that exceed the amounts that should be charged by more than 40%. Thus, the City Council has ordered that the rate be lowered from the current 2.2 euros per hour to 1.53.

As for the revision of the canon, this time it does not proceed, according to Public Services, since the concessionaire (Road and Parking) delivered the canon in advance to the City Council at the time of the award, worth 219,000 euros.

Tarife pointed out that, like the rest of the parking lotsthe company has been given a month to adjust its rates, however, also confirmed that “both this and the rest can present arguments to the notified decision.” He confirmed the mayor that, until now, all the car parks have presented these allegations, which are currently under study.

“We are going to answer these allegations, with the corresponding resolutions, and from there the administrative process ends, so they will have to comply with what is dictated to them, if that does not happen, what we are going to raise is an administrative dispute for a judge to order it.”

Of the seven public car parks on which the study was carried out, with the Ramón y Cajal car park, there are already five that have been informed that they must adjust their rates, all downwards, to comply with the criteria of the specifications for which the different parking lots were awarded. In this way, the car parks in Plaza de España and Mercado de Nuestra Señora de África are yet to receive notification from Public Services.
