The City Hall of Santa Cruzthrough the Autonomous Organism for Festivities and Recreational Activities (Oafar), has already opened the registration to access the auction of stalls of the carnival 2022which will be held on June 7 at the headquarters of Cajasiete.

This year, of the 85 locations available, 49 will initially go up for auction, since 36 are those reserved by Oafar for the usual exploitation by the sponsors. However, as is customary, if any of them remain available on the day of the bid, they will be put up for auction along with the initial lot. Fiestas estimates regarding the minimum income for the auction is about 120,000 euros, if all the positions were awarded for the starting price, to which the prices established for the sponsors would have to be added, which could vary depending on the case. This was pointed out by the mayor of Fiestas, Alfonso Cabello to DIARIO DE AVISOS, pointing out that “we are facing a totally new situation, because there are fewer days of Carnival in the street and in the month of June, so we do not have a clear estimate of what can happen with the auction. We trust that all the positions will end up being auctioned and for more than the starting quantity”.

The auction is aimed at the exploitation of stalls such as inns, food trucks, bus bars, hot dog sales, nougat and candy stalls, churrerías or stalls selling Carnival items for professionals in the corresponding sector, who may be natural persons or legal.

This year’s call has a reduction in the public rate of 65% due to the reduction in the number of days in which the posts may be installed. The starting prices for Carnival 2022 range from just over 6,000 euros at the inn that will be located in Plaza de la Candelaria; up to just over 200 euros from the stall selling Carnival items located on Calle del Castillo.

The authorization of the spaces will be carried out through a flat bid auction. The procedure will be out loud, in a single act, in two calls. The positions awarded in the first call that have not been paid, through a window enabled for this purpose in Cajasiete or by immediate transfer, will be auctioned again in the second call.

Regarding bar applications, for which the term is also open, the mayor pointed out that “we are having a high demand in this section, so we expect a large number of applications in the days that still remain.”

Tickets

With regard to tickets for galas and contests, Fiestas is looking for a formula to increase capacity, since the Fairground space was designed with the restrictions of February, so now it is trying to increase the number of locations. “We have three possible solutions, but we must ensure that it is technically possible and in terms of security,” said the mayor.
