La Orotava boasts of its five museums

The Municipality of La Orotava publishes a catalog on its five museums in which the cultural and heritage values ​​that each one treasures are highlighted. With the name of Cobblestone Treasuresthis publication reviews the attractions of the Museum of Ibero-American Crafts of Tenerifethe Museum of Sacred Art The Treasure of La Concepciónthe Pinolere Ethnographic Museumthe Carpets of La Orotava Ephemeral Art Interpretation Center and the first room of the future museum dedicated to Scientific expeditions and travelers in the Canary Islands in the 18th and 19th centuriesfrom the Canarian Orotava Foundation for the History of Science (Fundor).

Among other things, he highlighted the projects and activities carried out by the entity with the aim of promoting and disseminating studies related to the History of Science, especially those linked to the Canary Islands. The Museum Collection Scientific Expeditions and Travelers in the Canary Islands in the 18th and 19th centuries is an example of this, a project that began with a task of digitizing historical documentation related to the world of scientific travelers and that now includes the creation of different thematic modules on cartography and navigation, botany and zoology, geography and landscape, astronomy , geology and volcanology.
