SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 18 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –

Luis Pintor Sepúlveda (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 1971) has taken office as dean of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Demarcation of the College of Civil Engineers, Canals and Ports (CICCP), a position in which he replaces Emilio Grande de Azpeitia.

Pintor Sepúlveda leads a team of twelve people in which Soraya Manjón Vega (Gijón, 1978) will perform the duties of deputy dean and the other ten members of the new Governing Board will act as members.

The inauguration ceremony took place at the headquarters of the CICCP Demarcation on April 26.

The new dean of the Provincial College of Paths is the technical director of the Teide Cable Car and the deputy dean Soraya Manjón Vega is director of the Water Projects Unit, Next Generation EU Funds of the Government of the Canary Islands.

Luis Pintor points out in a statement that they want to “make known” the work of the Civil Engineers in the western province.

“From the public to the private sphere, in the different specializations, the engineers of our demarcation study and promote projects that facilitate development, and propose the best solutions to the problems of the four islands such as mobility, water management or coasts and ports “, he comments.

The new dean also indicates that the work carried out by the governing board has “essential support” in the work carried out by the different committees of the CICCP demarcation.

“It is therefore an essential objective to support and maintain them, as well as to create a new joint committee with the Demarcation of Las Palmas for the defense of the profession”, he points out.

In this sense, he emphasizes that “it is not only a question of finding formulas for the best assessment of the work of active professionals, but also facilitating the access of young engineers to companies for their labor insertion through the signing of agreements”.

Another of the axes in which the work of the new governing team will deepen is that of being present to a greater extent in the non-capital islands.

MORE PRESENCE IN NON-CAPITAL ISLANDS

“We want to have a greater presence in the non-capital islands. In this way we will be able to have a closer analysis of their problems, being able to deal with the specificities of each one in the different committees of the College. Our intention is to show our total availability to the Cabildos and City Councils , fostering collaboration with our professional group”, explains the dean.

Luis Pintor also proposes that the Demarcation of the College of Engineers have an active role in the reconstruction of the infrastructures in the areas affected by the eruption and in the participation in the different working groups.

Regarding the different administrations of the province, he points out that it is necessary to promote the signing of agreements and the revision of existing ones, and in this line there is already a first proposal with the Cabildo de La Gomera.

The Provincial Association wants to collaborate and support other professional associations by participating in their forums and debates.

“Our objective is that other professional associations have the group of Civil Engineers and create collaborative synergies”, says the new dean.

In addition, growth in social networks and dissemination media will be promoted, and the presence of the Association in discussion groups, round tables and opinion groups will be favored.
