SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 18 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Employment, Socioeconomic Development and Foreign Action area of the Cabildo de Tenerife, has launched, together with the Vilaflor City Council, an employment plan that facilitates the training and hiring of 13 unemployed people from the municipality in areas linked to sustainability and care for the environment.

To develop this initiative, the island corporation has made an investment of 211,311 euros, to which is added a local contribution of 2,371 euros.

Minister Carmen Luz Baso assured in a note that “it is not an isolated initiative, since it is part of the Municipal Employment Program that the Cabildo has launched with all the municipalities of the island.”

Along these lines, he explained that a total of 10.5 million euros are being invested to provide training and employment to more than 600 people “with the aim of improving their qualifications and promoting their reintegration into the labor market”.

For her part, the mayor of the municipality, Agustina Beltrán, thanked the minister for her support and involvement with the project.

“It is a project with a sustainable and innovative future, which not only contributes to the economic and social development of Vilaflor de Chasna, but also improves the training and employability of unemployed people”, he stated.

In the meeting held with the people participating in this plan, Carmen Luz Baso and Agustina Beltrán presented the bases of the project called ‘La Huerta grande ecorural’.

Specifically, it is an initiative that seeks to promote the Sustainable Development Goals and, for this, 13 people will be hired for a period of nine months to develop activities that enhance the green areas of the municipality, such as organic farming or sustainable tourism. .

Among the positions offered are an administrative officer, a forest foreman, a forest engineer, a biologist, seven forest workers and two tour guides.

Regardless of their qualification, staff must undergo prior training related to their area of work to not only prepare them for the positions they are going to perform, but also improve their employability for the future.
