Vice President of Council of Tenerife and Minister of Mobility and Roads, Enrique Arriaga, has requested the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife so that, “urgently and immediately”, it rehabilitates a section of the pavement of the bus lane that it is within its competence and that it is very deteriorated with potholes, fissures and sinkholes.
Specifically, it is the area of the Alvaro Rodriguez Lopez Streetat the height of Clara Campoamor street.
Arriaga has sent the municipal officials the technical reports made by the Roads and Mobility areas and those responsible for the mechanics of the Titsa transport company that certify the deficiencies found and how they affect the buses that circulate in the bus lane.
After the checks carried out, in addition to sinkholes, fissures and potholes that compromise road safety, partially sunken manhole covers and manholes have been detected, in some cases with part of the surrounding pavement removed; sunken parts of the pavement mostly coinciding with the vehicle rolling area, patched and still deteriorated sections, in addition to a general deterioration of the surface with cracks and aggregate removed from the surface in several sections of the lane.

The state of the bus lane entails a high level of vibrations that affects and reduces the comfort of passengers.
