SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 13 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The La Guayaba Art Space in Santa Cruz de Tenerife hosts until June 7 the new individual exhibition of ‘El Niño Sombra’, entitled ‘Andanzas’, with more than a hundred photographic ‘collages’.
The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Specifically, it is a selection of photographic collages grouped into series, including: ‘Words and shadows’, ‘Broken dreams, fleeting loves and office supplies’, ‘Piscolabis’, ‘Seventies’, ‘Stories of plastic and porcelain’, ‘Agendas’ and ‘Baraja, games of chance and misunderstandings’, among others.
The true protagonists of these compositions are the anonymous characters captured by the camera of ‘El Niño Sombra’ and subsequently decontextualized from their usual itineraries through photographic editing to be placed in settings that evoke a past time in which, however, , harmoniously coexist with various elements that are fully in force, such as the Google Maps location symbol, deliberate typex erasures or QR codes with which music videos of songs from the 80s to the present can be accessed.
On this occasion, ‘El Niño Sombra’ has also resorted to plastic soldiers, stripped in most cases of their military mission, and porcelain figures with which he has recreated multiple stories in which nostalgia is present in equal parts , romanticism and poetry with humor, irony and social criticism, includes a note from the author.
Likewise, the montage includes a series of amusements for the viewer to interact with, such as sets of magnets with which they can compose their own painting in the style of ‘El Niño Sombra’ and many more surprises.
