The Councilor for Security, Evelyn Alonso, assured yesterday that there are no records of accidents with scooters in santa cruz in the last weeks.

The mayor thus responded to the claim made by the councilor of United We Can, Dolores Espinosa, about the regulation that her area is making of these personal mobility vehicles, giving as examples the problems they were causing. “We only know of one accident that occurred in the La Salud neighborhood, but I do not have any other reports for this reason, so I invite you if you know of more cases, tell them to call the Local Police to take the minutes,” Alonso said. .

The councilor detailed what is being done from her area and advanced that, shortly, the same limitation that has been placed on scooters to prevent them from circulating in pedestrian areas, disconnecting when they enter them, will be put in place for when they do so by sidewalks, forcing users to go on the road, as established by law. As for the regulatory ordinance, work is still being done on it, said the councilwoman.

The opposition criticized the mayor that both the painting of parking lots and the one that does not charge any fee for the use of the public domain only favors the scooter companies and is not thinking about the rest of the residents of Santa Cruz.
