SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 11 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, together with the CEO of Foreign Action, Liskel Álvarez, received a visit from the ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania in Spain, Lyra Puisyte-Bostroem.
It is the first time that the diplomat visits the Island, where she is these days on the occasion of the commemoration of the centenary of diplomatic relations between Spain and Lithuania.
The ambassador was accompanied by Juozas Steponenas, first secretary of the Embassy in Spain; Carlos Alberto Lorenzo, honorary consul of Lithuania in the Canary Islands, and Almudena Yusta Romero, consular coordinator in Tenerife.
On the part of the Cabildo, the policies of opening to new markets that are being promoted by the Island Corporation were announced to strengthen commercial relations between Canarian companies and foreign countries, as well as actions to promote the tourism sector.
The different interlocutors of the diplomatic delegation have underlined the appreciation enjoyed by the Lithuanian community in the Canary Islands, as well as the interest in developing relations in the business, educational and cultural spheres, placing special emphasis on the tourist and commercial sectors.
The diplomatic mission to Tenerife has been organized to establish contacts, seek collaboration opportunities and celebrate the centenary of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Spain.
The reception ended with the signing by the ambassador in the Book of Honor of the Cabildo de Tenerife, to record this first institutional visit to the Corporation.
