Today is the fourth closing day of the pier beach, in Garachico. The measure was adopted last Saturday after users of the same reported the presence of a greenish spot entering a part of the bay, towards the west side. Stain attributed to the presence of algae remains, in principle, although the municipal authorities will wait for the result of the analysis of the water samples to determine their origin.

Those results should be available today, 48 hours after taking the culture. This is what the mayor, José Heriberto González, expects, who yesterday insisted on asking the neighbors for “patience”.

Likewise, Lago Martiánez was affected yesterday by the same greenish color. “It is a specific problem that occurs very rarely with the mixture of incoming and outgoing water,” they pointed out from the Puerto de la Cruz City Council. Last night they proceeded to empty the place to try to restore normalcy this morning.
