The Municipality of Los Realejos announces that as of this Tuesday, May 10, 2022, the actions for the rearrangement of parking spaces and sidewalks will begin in the main commercial road of Toscal Longuera“with the aim of adapting the available spaces to guarantee pedestrian accessibility and road safety before the imminent installation of the new bar and restaurant terraces in the area”, warns the first deputy mayor and councilor for the Local Development area , Adolfo Gonzalez (PP).

These works try to prepare the way for the application of the new municipal ordinance that regulates the installation of terraces of bars and restaurants. The City Council of Los Realejosthrough its Municipal Planning Department, and in coordination with the Local police and the Security and Emergencies area will begin this Wednesday, May 11, these preliminary rehabilitation and urban reorganization works.

The first deputy mayor of Los Realejos, Adolf Gonzalezvisited the area on Monday with the Councilor for Urban Planning, Laura Lima (PP), and explained that “the section of action includes the main road of Toscal Longuerafrom the vicinity of its intersection with Calle Los Bancales to its intersection with Calle Las Dalias, where several restaurant establishments are concentrated that have already expressed and formalized their intention to undertake the installation of terraces in accordance with the new municipal regulations.

“We continue to maintain our commitment to facilitate this installation of terraces, in fact we have promoted a pioneering municipal subsidy in this regard to alleviate the costs involved, but we must guarantee and respect the coexistence and coexistence of pedestrian and transit uses and vehicle parking. in those same public environments, always prioritizing road safety and universal accessibility”, as underlined Adolf Gonzalez.
