The Island already has 31 companies distinguished with the Charters for Sustainability. The Minister of Tourism of Tenerife, David Pérez, points out that “this distinction constitutes recognition of the commitment that contributes to the strengthening of an image as a responsible and competitive destination”. The Cabildo has recognized 16 new firms for promoting practices for sustainable tourism in the natural environment.
This year the Charter for Sustainability in Nature Activities is awarded for the first time. In total, thirteen companies have received this recognition for the development of activities in a sustainable and respectful manner.
Another three have been recognized with the Charter for the Sustainability of Whale Watching for their sustainable work and for promoting responsible use in the service to observe these animals and also that of the tourists who enjoy the activity.
