Music and tradition go hand in hand this weekend in Adeje to commemorate the proclamation of the canonical patronage of its patron saint, the Virgin of the Incarnation

The municipality of Adeje commemorates the proclamation of canonical patronage of Our Lady of the Incarnation with a meeting that will flood the town’s Plaza de San Sebastián with music and tradition.

This Saturday, May 7, starting at 8:00 p.m., there will be a coexistence day with the presence of the following folkloric groups: Imoque Cultural Association, La Biata group, Chabor group, Parranda El Mesturao, Boleros de Armeñime group, Senior group from the Santa Ana School and Adeje Folklore School. Likewise, the participation of the sound of the chácaras and drums from the island of La Gomera and a group of dancers from the island of El Hierro is planned.

It’s about a first class music and dance meeting that allows to value the historical respect of the municipality of Adeje towards its patron saint, the Virgin of the Incarnation. For this reason and to put the finishing touch to a weekend of celebration, on Sunday, May 8, at 5:00 p.m., the group Los Sabandeños will take to the stage in Plaza de San Sebastián de Adeje to delight the public with their great musical classics.

Taking music and tradition as the guiding thread, this meeting will also make it possible to invigorate the life of the municipality both from the cultural point of view and from its restorationafter years of restrictions as a result of the pandemic.

This day of musical coexistence has the support of the Canary Islands Government through the Ministry of Tourism, the Canarias Viva project and FAUCA (Federation of Urban Areas of the Canary Islands). The act is part of the philosophy of FAUCA, whose mission is to promote actions that encourage the development of Urban Areas through the convergence and collaboration of public and private operators, covering economic, social and cultural aspects.
