SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 5 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín (PSOE), has indicated this Thursday that “there is no confrontation” with his government partner Ciudadanos (Cs) although there are differences in some votes in plenary sessions and assumes that “it is time to negotiate everything” in this mandate because they are in the minority.
In an interview granted to ‘Cadena Ser’ and collected by Europa Press, he recognized that the political situation in the corporation is like this “from minute one” and Sí Podemos acts as an opposition and gives “specific support” and often also votes against .
Martín has charged against the Canary Coalition (CC) because “he has been determined to destabilize” the government pact “changing his mind” on issues that “it seemed that they were very clear about”, such as the southern train or now the motor circuit.
He has branded this form of opposition as “tactical” in order to try to generate “division” but what they achieve is “a way of doing politics that harms Tenerife” and that is totally “irresponsible”.
The president of Tenerife has stressed that they have been “accustomed to living together” for three years with a form of government that forces them to “negotiate everything” and “there is no problem”, giving as an example that thanks to the support of Sí Podemos, the last island budget.
In the case of the remnants of the treasury, which have been blocked in the last plenary session, he has said that they will return to plenary session again because it includes “important issues” such as scholarships or the construction of the motor circuit, which CC is now opposed to. “Yesterday I didn’t understand anything” she commented.
Regarding the PP’s offer to negotiate important agreements for the island, he has indicated that “he could have done it at the beginning of the legislature” because he “never” opposed a government agreement.
In fact, he has pointed out that he came to raise it and that both parties stop being “nonsense” because they do not have to be “staunch enemies” but the popular ones “decided to go with CC” — they came to sign a minority pact that endured until the motion of censure–.
