The governing board of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has approved contracting an auxiliary technical assistance service to support the collection and management of European Next Generation recovery funds.
The service will support and assist the areas responsible for these tasks and transversally to the different areas, services and units that manage and execute the funds, the City Council has reported, which wants to have “external and specialized technical support” due to the “interrelation and interdependence of all the phases of execution of the European funds”.
According to the Councilor for Finance, Juan José Martínez, with this contract “the City Council completes the structure to deal with the collection, management and subsequent justification of European Funds, basically from the Next Generation programme”.
“We start from a structure of five specialized directors dedicated exclusively to these functions that will have the support of this technical office, with a commission that from the Treasury area, coordinated with the other areas, promotes these projects,” according to the councilor.
The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has so far received financing from these funds for 26 million euros, says Martínez.
The objective with these funds is to promote changes in the city regarding mobility, sustainability and the environment.
