Canary Islands add 159 positives for Covid-19 and three deaths

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug 31 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands communicates this Tuesday a total of 159 new cases of coronavirus COVID-19, bringing the number of infected since the pandemic began to 91,954, with 13,583 active (-333), of which 70 They are admitted to the ICU (-3) and 368 remain hospitalized (-3).

In addition, the death of three men has been reported: two in Tenerife, 94 and 70 years old, and another in Lanzarote, 60 years old. All three suffered from previous pathologies and, except for the 94-year-old, remained admitted to the hospital. With these deaths, the archipelago reaches 936.

For its part, the Accumulated Incidence continues its decline and at 7 days it stands at 59.88 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 144.63 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

By islands, Tenerife has 64 cases with a total of 44,229 accumulated and 7,942 epidemiologically active cases and Gran Canaria has 35,152 accumulated cases, 77 more than the previous day and 4,733 active.

Lanzarote adds 10 new cases with 6,584 accumulated and 146 epidemiologically active; Fuerteventura has 4,075 accumulated cases with seven more cases than the previous day and 220 active.

La Palma does not add any cases and has 1,074 accumulated and 19 active cases; El Hierro does not register new positives either, so its accumulated are 446 and its assets are nine.

For its part, La Gomera increases its cases by one, so it has 393 accumulated and four assets.

63 CASES LESS THAN LAST TUESDAY

The data reported this Tuesday represents a decrease of 63 positives compared to last Tuesday, when 222 new infections were reported. In the last 29 days there has been a continuous decline in the number of cases.

Until this Tuesday, a total of 2,004,698 diagnostic tests have been carried out on the islands, of which 4,881 correspond to yesterday.
