The council approves your Human Resources Strategy 2021-2023 with the priority objective of “improving the provision of services to citizens”. The Minister of the Presidency, Finance and Modernization, Berta Pérez, explains that it is an innovative document that includes 18 projects and more than 40 actions emanating from a participatory process. The more than 7,000 workers who have presented 900 contributions to the document have been able to take part. The insular director of Human Resources, Lidia Pereira, highlights the high participation of the personnel of the insular institution and its public sector.

According to Pérez, the strategy focuses on “the organization, motivation and professional qualification of staff, Our greatest asset is the institution to respond to citizens”.

Berta Pérez emphasizes that the document, approved this month by the Governing Council, seeks to “establish a continuous improvement model related to the planning, organization and management of human resources, which guarantees the necessary structure to adequately develop the skills assigned”.

The counselor recalls that “the provisions of the motion presented by the Socialist Group and approved by the insular plenary session in which it was proposed to design a strategic plan that would allow integrating the objectives of the institution with those of the staff” are “complied with”. The idea is “to encourage coordinated work and the improvement of working conditions.”

For her part, the insular director of Human Resources, Lidia Pereira, highlights the high participation registered during the open process for drafting the strategy, as well as the high number of contributions from almost half a thousand public employees who have participated in both the definition of the strengths and weaknesses from which they are based as well as in the proposal of the actions that need to be implemented.

Lidia Pereira explains that the actions included in the Human Resources Strategy are related to five axes or lines of work aimed at strengthening leadership, internal management, digital transformation, talent monitoring and assessment, as well as staff attention .

The island director adds that its development is accompanied by a development and evaluation plan, which includes regular meetings and the preparation of an annual report that includes the degree of execution and the results obtained with each of the projects.
