Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival 2023
There is already a date for the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife 2023: it will begin on January 20 and end on February 26. SERGIO MENDEZ

When the 2022 Carnival has not yet been celebrated, which will start next month exceptionally due to the pandemic, the dates for the 2023 Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival are already set. And it is that, according to the forecast of the Fiestas, the Christmas and Epiphany acts and those of the Carnival will practically have to be organized almost jointly, given that the latter will begin on January 20, with the presentation of the candidates, just two weeks after the Cabalgata de Reyes.

The most significant dates are February 15, with the celebration of the Carnival Queen Election Gala, and Friday the 17th, with the Announcer Cavalcade and the start of the street party, for, on February 21, February, Shrove Tuesday, celebrate the Coso Apotheosis. Precisely yesterday, the Plenary approved the holidays for next year, which will be on February 21 and May 3.

As confirmed by the mayor of Parties, Alfonso Cabello, at the end of the Plenary, “we are facing an unprecedented organizational challenge, because it is going to be a Carnival that will have to be built and will be in development since December. It is one of the carnivals that is going to be celebrated sooner in the history of the party”. In addition, the mayor added that “the organizational challenge is to have a Carnival in the month of June, and before that month start the contracts to celebrate the next one”.
