Canary Islands has accounted for a total of nine deaths of patients with covid since last fridayof which three were reported in Tenerifetwo in Gran Canariaanother two in The Palm and one in Fuerteventura. The deceased, aged between 59 and 98 years, had previous pathologies and were hospitalized, reports the Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands Government.
On the other hand, since last Friday they have been registered in the Archipelago 1,040 new positives in COVID-19 among people over 60 years of age, which is the population group that is followed up after passing the acute phase of the Pandemic.
The accumulated number of cases of coronavirus among this group amounts to 55,131 people in the Canary Islands. Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 730.25 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 393.08.
Currently in the Archipelago there are 299 people admitted with coronavirus, of which 18 are in the ICU and the rest, 281, on the ward.
Health follows the new indicators included in the COVID-19 Surveillance and Control Strategy, agreed by the Ministry of Health with the autonomous communities.
