The councilor of the Popular Party in the Council of TenerifeManuel Fernández, demands the Cabildo de Tenerife to improve security in the TF-342 roadas it passes through the municipality of Los Realejos, and announces that it will ask the person in charge of Roads of the insular institution, in the Plenary Mobility Commissionon «the reasons why the Cabildo paralyzed the actions in the section of this road affected by the storm of february 2020».
Fernández recalls that on the aforementioned date, just before the start of the pandemic, adverse weather conditions caused, among other incidents, the fall of some trees on the slope of the TF-342on its way through The Realejos. “At that time, the Island Council carried out an action to solve the consequences of that storm, but nevertheless, it never applied new security measures in the entire affected section.”
During a recent visit to the area, Fernández was able to verify, together with the councilors of the City Council of Los Realejos Laura Lima (PP) and Alexis Hernández (PP)«the worrying situation in which the hillside next to this road is found».
The PP recalls that the TF-342 road is a busy road, of great importance for mobility in the north of the islandsince it connects the midlands of the municipalities of Los Realejos, San Juan de La Rambla, La Guancha and Icod de los Vinos.
Manuel Fernandez he underlines that “mobility is one of the main problems that Tenerife citizens are currently suffering from, with many points on the island that are in permanent collapse.” The popular councilor considers that “the negligence of the insular government in terms of roads is a burden that worsens the mobility situation, and therefore, has negative consequences for the users of the same, not only from the point of view of the fluidity of traffic, but also, and as we see in this case, in terms of the safety of vehicles and drivers».
