La Orotava offers up to 2,500 euros to new entrepreneurs

La Orotava will help with up to 2,500 euros to entrepreneurs who have started a business in the municipality since January 1, 2020. The launch of the entrepreneurial check in the Villawhich works in the neighboring municipality of The Realejos Since 2012, it aims to encourage self-employment and the implementation of new businesses. The City Council has an initial batch of €50,000 which will be extended if it is insufficient for the demand, as announced yesterday by the Mayor of Villero, Francisco Linares (CC).

The nationalist president and the councilor responsible for the area of ​​Training and Employment, Daisy Ramos (CC)were in charge of presenting this new subsidy, which It can be requested from this Thursday, April 21 until May 18. Its objective is to help entrepreneurs in starting up their businesses, since a large number of expenses are eligible, such as social security contributions, rental of premises, notary or commercial registry expenses, feasibility studies , investment in web pages and online positioning, posters, insurance linked to the activity or the reforms of the premises, among others.

Linares stresses that this subsidy “was born to stay, grow and help all entrepreneurs in the future”, as well as to “promote self-employment and entrepreneurship, encourage the creation of new companies in the Villa and give our maximum support in the multiple obstacles that are found at the time of start a business project». This check will reduce the large expenses that any business must face in its beginnings.

“We are aware of how difficult it is today to get a business up and running and the great effort involved in the first months of operation,” acknowledges the councilor, for which she considers this call very important, which will allow receiving aid from between 2,000 and 2,500 euros. And he recalled that the expenses that the company has had during the established period will be eligible, which must be issued and paid in the name of the beneficiary person or entity.

Entrepreneur’s Check La Orotava It is aimed at natural and legal persons, entities without legal personality and social economy entities, «virtually all those who start an activity in La Orotava», Ramos values. The project must be viable, technically and economically, and must have its fiscal domicile and activity in the municipality, in addition to being considered a microenterprise. The application for the subsidy, accompanied by the required documentation, will be submitted electronically through the electronic headquarters of the city council in the procedure section of the “entrepreneurship subsidy”. Councilor Deisy Ramos detailed yesterday that the municipality of La Orotava currently has some 4,300 unemployed people, 800 fewer than in January 2021, when the number of unemployed exceeded 5,100. The new entrepreneurial check is added to other municipal grants that aim to promote self-employment in the town. So far in 2022, the Training and Employment area has served 122 people seeking job advice and another 32 interested in entrepreneurship projects. In the municipality there is also another resource from the CEOE, which advises entrepreneurs on their new projects.
