SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 16 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Area of Employment, Socioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, has convened the Tenerife Moda 2022 National Photography Contest, whose deadline to present the works ends on September 16 and which is open to professional photographers and amateurs, of legal age and residing in Spain.
This year’s theme is fashion and ceremonies and the participants will have freedom when it comes to interpreting, performing and producing their works, as long as the basis is artistic and creative fashion photography, framed in the relationship with the ceremonies. Among all the photographs presented, three works will be selected, which will be awarded 2,500, 2,000 and 1,500 euros, respectively, in addition to an accrediting trophy.
Through this event, managed by the Empresa Insular de Artesanía, the aim is to publicize the Tenerife Moda line and create a database with photographers specializing in fashion. At the same time, talent is supported, giving participants the opportunity to exhibit their works in a group show.
For the granting of these prizes, the jury designated for this purpose will take into account different aspects when selecting and deciding, such as the coherence between the speech, the argument and the message of the photograph with the theme of the contest; the resolution capacity in an image of the idea that the participant wants to convey; and creativity and originality in the approach of the image, the use of the technical tools that photography offers: digital treatment, direct intervention in post-production, lighting and color, among others.
The images must be original and unpublished and presented individually and in digital or paper format (DIN A-4). Works in color and black and white will be accepted, and must be accompanied by a title and description of the photograph presented and a pseudonym. They will be presented by ordinary mail or in person at the offices of the Empresa Insular de Artesanía SA, located at calle de Tomás Zerolo number 27, La Orotava (Santa Cruz de Tenerife).
In the last edition, with the Fashion and Environment theme, the winner of the contest was the photographer Javier Durán, from Tenerife, with the photograph titled ISO 14001, while the second prize was won by the photographer María Elena de la Cruz Suárez, from Tenerife, with the work titled Invisible Barrier. The third prize went to Samuel Luis Padrón, from Tenerife, with the work entitled Beauty and Destruction.
