The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Territory Planning and Historical Heritage area, has approved putting out to tender the drafting of the project to rehabilitate the Casa de Los Soler, in Vilaflor de Chasna, for which an item of 90,800 euros will be allocated.
The insular director of the area, Emilio Fariña, indicates in a note that a boost has been given to the execution of this project in response to the local demand that has been transferred through the City Council of Vilaflor de Chasna, and also the Cabildo has the commitment to prepare this space as an eco-museum to turn it into a “cultural and heritage reference” in the municipality and in the region.
“The Casa de Los Soler is a great example of the historical architecture of Vilaflor de Chasna and of the island, in which the pillars of society that have traditionally been the basis of the Canarian rural economy, the nobility and the population merge. peasant,” he says.
Once the rehabilitation works are finished, the property “will serve as a meeting, learning and dynamization space for workshops and other types of activities for citizens, helping residents and visitors to discover the history and characteristic heritage of the island territory,” says Fariña .
According to the island director, the decision to set up the property as an ecomuseum “has been taken with the aim of promoting the cultural heritage of the municipality, highlighting this jewel of Canarian architecture, a symbol of the town’s identity and a claim for visitors to visit. who wish to get closer to Canarian traditions”.
For her part, the mayor of Vilaflor de Chasna, Agustina Beltrán, stressed that “it is great news that the drafting of such an important project for all the citizens of Vilaflor de Chasna is finally coming to light, since the implementation of an ecomuseum will stimulate and generate employment for our neighbors, promoting the development of the economy of the municipality”.
For this reason, he thanks the insular direction of Heritage of the Cabildo for its predisposition to carry out this “long-awaited action”.
