SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 13 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Corpus Christi carpets of the Tenerife municipality of La Orotava will count this year for their elaboration with ash from the Cumbre Vieja volcano, in La Palma.
This has been advanced by the mayor, Francisco Linares, in an interview granted to the program ‘Good hours with José Luis Martín’ that is broadcast on the Twitch platform in which he has commented that about two months ago they collected about 8,000 kilos of ash in the ‘Isla Bonita’ to pay homage to the people of La Palma.
Linares has indicated that, in the infra-octave of Corpus Christi, on which work will begin once the Week events are over
Santa, the palm ash will have “a special role”, especially for the nuances offered by its “special and unique” black color.
The mayor has also affirmed that for this extraction they requested the pertinent authorizations and that with the amount collected they will have “for ten years”.
