Guía de Isora is counting down the hours for its great bet for Holy Week: Easter, a unique initiative of its kind in Spain that turns the town center of this town into a diverse open-air museum that surprises visitors with twenty floral sculptures inspired by the Passion of Christ, and theater, dance and music performances in its streets.

After two years without being held due to health restrictions, the Easter It will recover all its splendor between Holy Thursday and Easter Sunday, four days in which more than a thousand visitors are expected to pass through the urban center of Isorano, according to City Hall forecasts.

The initiative, promoted by Pedro Martín in his time as mayor to show the floral art of the church during the processions, has been consolidated over the years, as evidenced by the incorporation of new plastic artists and floral schools in each edition. international in scope.

Raquel Gutiérrez, Councilor for Culture, stressed, in statements to this newspaper, that since last Saturday the artists have been in the municipality and that today will be the busiest day before the structures appear in the streets tomorrow from first thing in the morning. The mayor invited to visit the Isorano town to enjoy a “unique family experience”.

In this edition of the Easterdirected by Carlos Curbelo again, the Association of Carpet Makers of La Orotava will participate for the first time, in addition to the students of the Gardening and Floristry cycle of the IES Manuel Martín González in Guía de Isora.

Together with them, prominent national specialists such as Juan Chamorro (Oviedo Floral Academy), María del Carmen Barreña and Juan Bautista Bosch (Valencia School of Floral Art) and Maximina Ángela, Jordi Abelló and José Martín (Spanish School of Art) will exhibit their works. The unique sample, which can be visited from tomorrow until late on Sunday, will have more incentives. On Friday, at 11 and 12, Leandro González García will interpret the monologue Defense of Pilate, in Tagoro street, while Soraya González will represent María Magdalena’s dialogue at 11:30 and 12:30 in Arriba street. At 1:00 p.m., the performance is scheduled in the Plaza de Burka Teatro, while throughout the day (until 5:00 p.m.) Salvador Ortega will perform Goodbye to Life. On Saturday at noon the Chamber Group of the Virgen de la Luz Band will perform.

The combination of art and tradition is complemented by the gastronomic proposal Picar sin sin that, in addition to Holy Week, can be tasted from the 21st to the 24th of this month and from the 28th of April to the 1st of May, informed the City Council of Guía de Isora .
