Goodbye to the giant waves at Bajamar beach

The City Council of La Laguna (Tenerife) will reopen this Monday, April 11, Bajamar beach after eight months of closure due to dam repair works.

In a statement, the Consistory has indicated that bathers will thus be able to enjoy this area again with all security guaranteesafter the Cabildo has confirmed that the work that remains pending will not affect this area of ​​the coast.

In this regard, the mayor, Luis Yeray Gutierrezvalued that “the planned schedule of the action has been met” so that the beach can be put into service just at the beginning of Holy Week, when the influx in the coastal nucleus begins to grow.

He also thanked the island institution for its involvement in responding “to Bajamar’s historical demand”, as well as the residents “for the patience they have maintained during these months of work”.

“Finally, citizens can once again enjoy bathing in the open sea, now, moreover, with greater peace of mind because they will be protected from the strong waves,” he celebrated.
