The Cabildo employs 210 young and unemployed people in areas linked to the fight against climate change. The island councilor of the area, Carmen Luz Baso, values an initiative that results in improving the employability of people under 30 years of age looking for work that they have been demanding for at least twelve months. The contract is for one year and the initiative is part of the Tenerife 2022 Ecological Transition Employment Project (PETE), co-financed by the Canarian Employment Service (SCE).
The counselor recalls that it is the second edition of a project with which those selected will be able to acquire professional experience related to the circular economy, energy efficiency and the maintenance of biodiversity. Most of the areas of the Cabildo are involved in the initiative, which over the coming months will have a reinforcement of personnel to carry out tasks related to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The bulk of the contracts, 128, will be for agricultural, forestry and highway work. Together with them, 15 senior technicians in different disciplines have been given work; 9 medium technicians; 6 masons; 19 foremen; 6 administrative assistants; 12 specialist technicians; 4 watchmen; and 11 drivers.
This project has a budget of 3,789,374 euros, of which 3,454,500 are contributed by the Canary Islands Employment Service and 334,874 euros correspond to the Cabildo.
