The Lenovo Tenerifeafter an excellent last quarter, defeated a Real Madrid that went from more to less and did not know how to stop the local attackswith which the upper part of the classification and those who fight to be among the top four (72-59) become much more even.

This Sunday, the Tenerife team did a great job and, although for many minutes he was below the scoreboard, he performed at a good level in defense for the last one thanks to Bruno Fitipaldoauthor of twelve points in the last period, turn the score around and finish with a 72-59 that does justice to what was seen in the Santiago Martín Sports Pavilion.

Sasu Salin helped, in this final stretch, to increase the distancesbut without a doubt one of the great protagonists of the clash was Emir Sulejmanovic who fought and at times surpassed the “towers” of the white team.

The people of Tenerife remain in sixth place, while Real Madrid, who are still second, see Joventut and Valencia Basket approaching them.

The Lenovo came out with a lot of self-confidence to the field and ready for the Real Madrid don’t play your game. He worked the rebound well so that there were no second shots and “allowed” the white team to shoot from outside

The truth is that there was equality in these first ten minutes of the game and the two teams took advantage of what the rival allowed them and without excessive risk in the offensive game.

Heurtel’s entry in the final moments of the first quarter made the visiting team looser and with more success from the outside. Txus Vidorreta, who he still had Huertas and Shermadini reserved on the bench without playing yet, he sought with his shooters to surprise the rival, but the truth is that they did not have that fortune to be able to score.

Despite all the score remained level, with Real Madrid dominating, but with differences that did not jeopardize the score (14-20, min. 11 and 26-32, min. 18).

The break came with a 28-32 score and there was still a lot to decide and, above all, knowing the approach of the two coaches for these last twenty minutes of the match.

After the break, Real Madrid continued to control the game. Vidorreta brought Huertas on court for the first time in the game and Laso immediately put Taylor in for his marking.

With Huertas on the court, the island team was not playing well. The Brazilian base was having problems and that was noticed by the team and the rival also took advantage of it to attack with more success. Partial 0-8 for Real Madrid (30-42) with Tavares very strong behind.

But Lenovo Tenerife was still trying to solve some defensive adjustments. A 6-0 run (39-43, min. 29) put the island team back in the game, which managed to reach the end of the third quarter with an interesting 41-43, especially after having had a lead of twelve points (30-42).

Tremendous was the last quarter. Salin, with a triple, managed to put his team ahead after many minutes (46-45), answered Llull (46-48, min. 32), but it was in the 34th minute when the game changed completely. The Lenovo kept up their excellent defensive work, but now they were beginning to be successful up front. Sastre put it 52-50, Fitipaldo 54-50.

Paul Lasso he stopped the game with a timeout, but it was not enough to stop a team from Tenerife that was beginning to be on a roll. Two triples by Fitipaldo gave the Aurinegro team a lot of light (61-52, min.36) and Salin would help with another triple (64-52). Partial 19-2 and Madrid was already KO, without ideas in attack and seeing how Lenovo Tenerife also surpassed it in attack to finish with that final 72-59.

Data sheet:

Lenovo Tenerife 72 (14+14+13+31). Fitipaldo (14), Sastre (5), Doornekamp (3), Wiltjer (6), Guerra (8) –initial-, Sulejmanovic (8), Salin (9), Huertas (2), Shermadini (11), Borg ( -), Todorovic (6) and Rodriguez (-).
