The Ministry of Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands (79%) and the Cabildo (21%) invested 884,238 euros in the improvement of three pedestrian paths perpendicular to Ernesto Sarti and Avenida de España, in Costa Adeje. With this action, now completed, the urban space of Costa Adeje, one of the main tourist destinations in Tenerife, is revitalized. These works are part of the agreement between the regional Executive and the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism that promotes the Tourist Competitiveness Plan for the Canary Islands, which includes the granting of 1,650,000 euros to the Island Corporation for improvement actions by direct grant granted in 2018.

The jobs solve problems like steep slopes and poorly lit areas. It also enhances the spaces with the adaptation of garden areas and the improvement and replacement of public lighting. Added to this is the renovation of the pavement, the elevation and expansion of the pedestrian path and the channeling of the ravine, by means of a buried pipe of a suitable diameter for runoff. In addition, the urban furniture was replaced and supplemented with the provision of wastebaskets, benches, bollards, mupis and telephone booths, among other elements.

In coordination with the Adeje City Council and the neighboring owners, the facades of the plots facing the public space were restored, as well as the sanitation, electricity, telecommunications, irrigation, fire, rain and drinking water networks, among others. .

The general director of Tourist Infrastructure of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Miñarro; the insular director of Coordination and Support to the president of the Cabildo, Aarón Afonso, and the insular councilor for Cooperation and Housing, Zebenzuí Chinea, visited the area, accompanied by the councilor for Tourism, Adolfo Alonso and the mayor of the area of Mobility, Works and Services, Esther Rivero.
