Canarian Coalition of Tenerife has denounced the “desperate” situation experienced by dozens of families of students with specific needs for educational support on the Island who have seen how the Ministry of Education has denied them the scholarship due to an administrative error by the Government of the Canary Islands.
Tenerife nationalists have demanded that the Ministry of Education find an immediate solution to this problem caused by the Canarian Executive itself. These families, at least 50 from Tenerife, have found, at the time they expected to receive this financial aid, that the Ministry denied their request because the Autonomous Community did not send the required documentation by December 2021.
As the families affirm, “all the documents were sent in the months of August and September 2021 and every time they have requested any other information, it has been sent, according to the receipts from the entry record of the Ministry of Education “, recalls CC de Tenerife.
The nationalist party announced that it will meet with the families to address this situation and try to find a solution together with them. “We insist that it was a mistake by the Autonomous Community as well as by the Ministry of Education, an urgent solution must be found because children cannot be without this specific attention that allows them to develop cognitively according to their possibilities, and parents pay for these services at the professionals who teach it”, state the nationalists.
