Many groups joined this proposal: Taoro High School; Humboldt Cultural Association of the Canary Islands, the Mutua de Accidentes de Canarias, the Orotava Sports Union, the San Isidro Basketball Club, the Tenerife Boxing Federation, the Association of Carpet Makers of La Orotavathe Association of Salesian Former Students of La Orotava and the Salesian Community of Tenerife, since Chicho was an active part in all of them.

The event, very emotional, was attended by the deputy councilor of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Bertha Perez, and members of the Municipal Corporation. After the act of labeling held on the afternoon of this Friday, April 1, the tribute continued in the Taoro High School with the presentation of the book boy and period, which recalls the career of a doctor who also stood out in music, sports, carpeting. In this work, edited by The Canary, more than 26 people have participated: friends, relatives, collaborators and public representatives. The day closed with a concert featuring the Quinegua Group, Arístides Galán, the Ucanca Trio, Los Soles, Chago Melián and José Luis León.
A beloved and remembered doctor
Pedro Eustaquio Perez Garcia, boy, was born in La Orotava in 1949. He studied medicine in Santiago de Compostela, where he met his wife María Luisa Lapido, in the town of Padrón, and over time he received the Gold Medal from Amigos de Padrón. In La Orotava he installed his consultation as a specialist in otorhinolaryngology, passing through the same many patients who always showed him his respect. But in addition to his exemplary professionalism, his concerns led him to participate in several projects and multiple groups in the municipality. He was a defender of local traditions and responsible for several decades of one of the Corpus Christi flower carpets. In addition, he was part of the Quinegua group, and through his contacts he managed to bring important musicians to the Villa. He was also, among other things, president of the Mutua de Accidentes de Canarias (MAC), and of the San Isidro Basketball Club.
