SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 31. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Governing Council of the Cabildo de Tenerife has approved the regulatory bases and the call for subsidies intended to aid the quarry of the island’s sports clubs this year, with a credit of 1,300,000 euros.

The Minister of Sports, Concepción Rivero, explains in a note that “the subsidy contemplates that the licenses for adapted sports and people with disabilities are fully considered as basic licenses, with no age limit”, since the objective is “to go little by little removing barriers and helping integration through sport”.

In this line, he adds that “the concern of the Cabildo de Tenerife to promote sport among young people and the commitment to the quarry is a constant, for this reason, every year an effort is made to be able to increase the amount of these subsidies”.

The insular director of Sports, Ángel Pérez, affirms that “this aid will allow many entities to meet part of the expenses they have to face to support the bases, such as sports licenses and insurance for those under 18 years of age in their different modalities, purchase of material and equipment or pay for the presence of collegiate referees in the competitions”.

Clubs on the island that have at least 10 licenses for athletes aged no more than 18 years can apply for these grants.

The clubs or groups formed by people with disabilities do not have to meet the minimum limit of licenses or the age limit to attend this subsidy for the promotion of island base sport

Local and traditional sports clubs are excluded as they have their own line of subsidies. Those who will be able to opt and are allowed to attend this subsidy are the sports clubs from Tenerife that belong to the modalities of football and basketball.
